COVID-19 Public Announcement
UPDATE: May 24, 2021
In accordance with guidance from our local and state governments, EIM is pleased to announce that we are returning to “in-office” operations.
While our “work-from-home” operations proceeded smoothly and provided our Members with uninterrupted service, we look forward to the ease of information sharing and camaraderie that comes from working in the office together.
Over the next couple of months, we will be working from the office in rotating shifts and anticipate returning to the office as an entire staff following the July 4th holiday. As always, our goal is to provide a safe and healthy workplace for our employees as well as exemplary service to our Members, and we are proud of our record of having done so for more than 35 years.

EIM’s “return to work date” has been moved to January 2021. During this period, staff will continue to provide members the outstanding service that is the hallmark of EIM. UPDATE: June 9, 2020
We hope this announcement finds you, your families, and your colleagues well. We want to provide an update on EIM and our current thinking about our plans for the near future.
As previously announced, all EIM staff have been working from home since mid-March. Like many of you, we have been conducting much business via video-conference. Our staff meets and confers regularly with you and with each other using all the modern tools: Teams, Zoom, Skype, and even plain vanilla telephone calls. Your board of directors recently held its first all-remote meeting with all board members participating by audio- and video conference.
Our work-from-home operations continue to run smoothly and, while we miss the creativity, ease of information sharing, and camaraderie that comes from working in the office together, we have also proved that we can continue our remote operations while continuing to provide the highest level of service you have come to expect from EIM.
As we look toward the summer and fall, we must consider events on our calendars that would require travel. We have heard from many of you that your companies have restricted nonessential business travel through the fall and even beyond. We are also mindful that our events require gathering in larger groups, which for now, remains inadvisable. Accordingly, we have made the decision to cancel the in-person aspects of the following events:
- Insurance Advisory Committee meeting, June 16
- Board of Directors meeting, August 10-11
- Insurance Advisory Committee meeting, September 24-27
- Energy School, October 25-29
- EIS PAC Conference, October 26-29
We will look to hold these events or certain parts of these events virtually. Additional information will go to the attendees as we approach each event. The Energy School is an exception; it will be postponed until May 2021.
We invite you to visit www.eimltd.com at any time to see our latest updates. Should you have any questions about these matters, please reach out to your EIM representative. We wish you continued good health.

UPDATE: March 16, 2020
Our thoughts are with those directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Following our message of last week, we continue to focus on the health and safety of our staff, our members, our business associates, and our communities. In that regard, we are implementing today work from home for all of our staff and will continue to do so through at least March 31, 2020.
We are continuing with uninterrupted operations at EIM, EIS, and ECM. Our Business Continuity Plan is tested, and our IT infrastructure is fully designed to accommodate these circumstances. This will enable us to maintain our responsive service to members’ risk management needs. Our staff can continue to be reached by email or by phone.
To Our Members and Friends:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to protect the health and safety of our staff, our members, our business associates, and our communities, we are taking the following steps immediately:
- Restricting nonessential business travel;
- Ensuring that our remote working capabilities remain robust;
- Enhancing risk monitoring and management with our staff; and
- Instituting our Pandemic Flu Policy.
We are continuing with uninterrupted operations at EIM, EIS, and ECM. We annually test our Business Continuity Plan and remain confident about our ability to continue to serve our members’ risk management needs even in challenging times.
We are committed to communicating with you further should there be negative developments that will change the above outlook. Please look for direct messages from us or visit our website at www.eimltd.com for the very latest news.
